Where to ask Chui a question, what it can do for you, and what it asks before doing it.
Chui can answer questions about your meetings right inside the app: what was decided, what you promised, who took on what, what to prepare for tomorrow. It searches your meetings, reads the ones it needs and answers in words, with the meetings it used listed under "Sources". It has been in the app since build 191.
Every conversation is kept. "Past conversations" lists them, can be searched, and each can be renamed or deleted. Since build 223, questions you asked about a meeting also appear as cards under that meeting's summary ("Conversations about this meeting"), so you can open them again from there.
Every ask box has a microphone (since build 192). Press it, say your question, press it again ("Done — polish it"), and the words appear in the box so you can fix them before pressing "Send". Starting from the box on the meetings list or under a meeting opens the conversation, which finishes listening there. Spoken questions have an hourly limit; past it, Chui asks you to type.
Since build 223 the answer appears word by word, with a line above it saying what Chui is doing — "Searching your meetings…", "Reading “…”…", "Thinking…". If you lock the phone or move away while it works, the answer is still saved, and the device you asked from tells you when it is ready; a Mac or Windows computer shows its own notice. If the connection drops while it answers, Chui checks whether the answer arrived and shows it (since build 233).
Chui can do things as well as answer — rename a meeting, add a label, name a voice, send notes, delete a meeting. Anything that changes something stops on a card first, saying what would happen; "Nothing happens until you confirm." Press "Do it" (for a deletion, "Delete", with "Cancel" beside it), or type what to change instead. Declining leaves everything as it was.
This is on purpose: a transcript is somebody else's words, and a sentence said in a meeting must never be able to change your account on its own.
There is no question limit, on either plan: ask as much as you like about the meetings you have. On Free that is your meetings — ten a month — and on Chui Pro it is all of them. You can also connect your own Claude or ChatGPT and ask Chui from there (Chui inside an assistant).
Where an admin has locked assistants off, the box says so; who can lift that lock is in Companies in Chui.
Since build 225, the dictation key also starts a spoken conversation. Hold fn on a Mac (Ctrl + Win on Windows) and start with "hey Chui":
It works from any app, not only from Chui. Ask "hey Chui, what did I promise this week?" and the answer is spoken. It can also start a recording, open "Ask Chui", or type something for you. Before it sends notes, sends a promise or deletes a meeting, the bar shows "Chui asks" with "Yes" and "No" — or just say "yes". "End" on the bar stops the conversation, and it hangs up by itself after five minutes. On a Mac, a spoken request Chui stopped hearing partway is listened to once more, and Chui says so if it still did not work (since build 235).
Since build 235, the Action Button, Control Center or asking Siri to talk to Chui opens a spoken conversation with Chui.
Asking by typing or speaking works on the iPhone, Android, chui.io and Chui for Mac and for Windows. The Apple Watch has no ask box. "hey Chui" is only on a Mac and Windows; on an iPhone a spoken conversation starts from the Action Button, Control Center or Siri (since build 235).
Both reach the same meetings, and neither has a question limit. Asking inside Chui needs nothing set up. A connected Claude or ChatGPT works wherever you already talk to it, and can do the same things — it asks in its own window before changing anything. Setting one up is Chui inside an assistant.
