What an account costs

Free is ten meetings a month and thirty days of history; Chui Pro lifts both.

Chui is free, and the free plan has two limits. Both are in force: ten meetings a month, and thirty days of history. Everything else Chui does — every language, every surface, the watch, the assistant — is the same on either plan. A company is the one thing that is not, and in the US a Chui number: see below.

Nothing is ever deleted to make you pay. Past the tenth meeting Chui still records and still keeps the audio; past thirty days a meeting locks rather than going anywhere. Both are undone the moment the account is on Pro, and what was waiting comes back by itself.

The two limits, and what each one does

Chui counts the meetings on every account, month by month, and has since September 2026. get_account reports the count as meetings_this_month alongside the limit and what is left.

A company has one allowance, not one each

A meeting recorded inside a team comes out of the team's pool and is judged by the team's plan — stamped on the meeting when it was captured, so it does not change when somebody joins or leaves. The allowance is the company's, not one each, whoever recorded the meeting. A meeting a member of a paying company records on a locked phone is not stopped as «Over the limit» (since build 240); ones that were stopped that way are read and summarised by themselves. While the company is paid for, Chui does not sell a personal plan to a colleague in it — there is nothing for one to lift, because their meetings come out of the company's pool. The plan that covers a company is the company's own bill — never the owner's personal Pro.

If you have used this month's free meetings but you are also in a company that has Pro, Chui points you there (since build 228): the card above «Meetings» offers to switch to the company, and pressing «Record» first asks which of the two to record in. «Get Pro» is still offered for your own meetings.

These grow a team, and a team is paid for by the company — one price for every seat, the owner's included:

An assistant cannot start a team — paying for one is done on chui.io or in the desktop app — but once the team is paid for it can invite and approve ("Companies in Chui" says how). Taking an invitation back, removing a colleague and leaving are never refused, whether or not the team is paid for — shutting a door you opened, and the way out, are not things Chui sells.

And a company only works while it is paid for. If nobody is, colleagues stop seeing the meetings they shared with each other, and each person's meetings count against their own free ten a month and thirty days, as if there were no company. Everyone keeps every meeting they made, nothing is deleted, and the owner paying for the team again puts it all back exactly as it was. Meanwhile a colleague may buy Pro for themselves, which lifts their own limits; seeing each other's shared meetings again is the owner's to restore. "Companies in Chui" says what it looks like.

A team costs the same for every seat in it as a personal Pro, the owner's included — a month or a year at a time, paid by the company on chui.io. The prices below are the personal ones, and one seat costs exactly that.

The plans

On chui.io the price is in the payer's own money, chosen by where they pay from, and a customer who has paid once stays in that money:

a montha yeartax
euro€9.99€99.99included
US dollar$9.99$99.99added at checkout
pound£8.99£89.99included
Canadian dollarCA$13.99CA$139.99added at checkout

Everywhere else pays in euros.

On a phone the store shows its own price, in the money of the country the phone's store is in, so the figure there may not be the euro one.

Where it is bought, and stopped

Pro is bought in the Chui app on a phone, under Settings → Subscription. On an iPhone Apple takes the payment through the App Store; on Android Google Play takes it. Either way the subscription belongs to that store, and is managed and cancelled in the store's own settings — the iPhone's subscription settings, or your subscriptions in Google Play. The account is the same one everywhere, so it is Pro on the Mac, on Windows, on the watch and on chui.io the moment it is Pro on a phone.

Or by card, on chui.io and in Chui for Mac or Windows, under Settings → Subscription — Pro by the month or the year, and a team. Anybody can pay this way, with or without an iPhone. The card is entered on Stripe's own page, and cancelling keeps Pro until the end of the period already paid for.

There is no free trial. Pro bought on chui.io — by the month or the year, and a team — is charged the day it is bought, exactly as in the App Store and Google Play. An account whose trial began before 11 October 2026 keeps it until it ends and is first charged then; until that day get_account() says when (first_charge_on). Nothing is deleted when Pro ends, however it was bought.

Not through an assistant. An assistant can say what an account pays, how often, and when it renews or ends — get_account() answers all three — but it cannot buy Pro and cannot cancel it. Both are done by the person, under Settings → Subscription: bought there on a phone or on chui.io, and stopped where it was bought — the iPhone's own subscription settings, your subscriptions in Google Play, or Stripe's page for a card.

Invoices and receipts

Everything paid by card is under Settings → Payments and invoices — on the phone, on chui.io, and on the Mac and Windows. It shows the plan and its price, the next charge and its date, the card on file, and every past charge with two downloads: the invoice (a PDF) and the receipt (the payment's own page, which has the receipt's download). Invoices carry the company name, address and VAT number given when paying, so they are the kind an accountant accepts. Changing the card or cancelling is one press on the same page, and opens Stripe's own page.

On a team only its admins see it. An admin sees the team's bill — every seat — and its invoices; a colleague who is not an admin does not see the entry at all, and asking for it is refused. Somebody paying for Pro on their own is the admin of their own bill. A subscription bought in the App Store or on Google Play has no invoices here: the store is the seller and keeps the receipts, in the iPhone's subscription settings or in Google Play.

An assistant can hand them over. list_charges() answers what is paid, when the next charge falls, and every invoice and receipt with its download link — for the account's own Pro, and for its company's bill when the person is one of the admins.
